Order Numbers from Least to Greatest
Hello, 2nd graders! Today, we’re going to learn how to put numbers in order from the least to the greatest. Let’s have some fun with numbers!
What Does “Least to Greatest” Mean?
When we order numbers from least to greatest, we start with the smallest number and end with the biggest number. It’s like lining up your toys from the shortest to the tallest!
How to Do It
To put numbers in order, look at each number and figure out which one is the smallest. That number goes first. Then, find the next smallest number, and so on!
Example:
Let’s order these numbers: 25, 42, 16, 33.
- Step 1: Find the smallest number. It’s 16.
- Step 2: The next smallest number is 25.
- Step 3: Next comes 33.
- Step 4: The biggest number is 42.
So, the order from least to greatest is: 16, 25, 33, 42.
Time to Practice!
