Comparing How Many More
Hi there, first graders! 🌟 Today, we’re going to learn how to find out how many more objects one group has compared to another. This is a fun way to practice counting and comparing numbers!
Let’s Look at Some Groups:
Group 1: 🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎
Group 2: 🍎🍎
Group 1 has 5 apples, and Group 2 has 2 apples. How many more apples does Group 1 have? Let’s count! Group 1 has 3 more apples than Group 2!
Group 1: 🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻
Group 2: 🐻🐻🐻
Group 1 has 5 bears, and Group 2 has 3 bears. How many more bears does Group 1 have? Group 1 has 2 more bears than Group 2!
How to Compare:
- First, count the objects in each group.
- Then, find the difference between the groups by subtracting the smaller number from the bigger number.
- This will tell you how many more objects one group has!
Try It Out!
Here are some more groups to practice with:
Group 1: 🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋
Group 2: 🦋🦋🦋
Group 1: 🍇🍇🍇🍇🍇
Group 2: 🍇🍇🍇
