You can also add a two-digit number and a one-digit number without regrouping! Let’s try an example:

56 + 3

  1. Add the Ones Place
    • Ones: 6 + 3 = 9
  2. Add the Tens Place
    • Tens: 5 stays the same since we are only adding to the ones place.
  3. Put It Together
    • Answer: 59
